"When I was in my mid-teens, I became aware that I was attracted to both men and women. I didn't really know the word for what I was feeling until I was in my early twenties, while in college. I came out to the college LGBT group when I was 25, after getting the courage to attend their meetings. Since then, I have had relationships with both men and women. At present, I am single and focusing on personal growth.

My art work is influenced by my dual heritage, Mexican and American. I use the colors and motifs that I have seen in my travels in Mexico and incorporate them in my own designs. In a sense, my bisexuality is a fusion of my attraction to men and women.

"I specialize in weaving tapestries, in freeform crochet pieces and drawings in colored pencil and oil pastel. The concept for my art work is a fusion of my own designs with colors that reflect Mexican sensibilities. My work reflects my Mexican and American heritage. I have traveled many times to Mexico and seen ruins and art work. I use the colors and even some of the designs from those travels in the body of work I have done. I intend to travel to Mexico in the future to gather images for inspiration for future pieces. My hope is to convey the beauty that I see around me, wherever I may be, in my works of art."
